Job Description
OpenText is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to the development, deployment, and support of software applications. The role involves coding, testing, debugging, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
What the Role Offers
- Participate in discussions with the software development team to define project goals.
- Analyze user and system requirements.
- Write efficient, high-quality code following industry best practices.
- Implement DDLs, DMLs, and optimize SQL queries.
- Test, debug, and validate application functionality and security.
- Address bug reports and customer escalations professionally.
- Work closely with Quality Engineering for test plan reviews.
- Assess technical risks, solve problems, and report progress to managers or Scrum Masters.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in OOPs, Core Java, and design patterns/algorithms.
- Experience in SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Tomcat or other application servers.
- Knowledge of ActiveMQ and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
