Job Description:
As a Data Engineer, you will work with software development engineers, business intelligence engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to maintain and support data pipelines and environments that are critical for vendor payment processes across various Amazon businesses (e.g., Kindle, Amazon Video, Amazon Music, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain SQL-based data pipelines and Amazon Redshift clusters
- Support the DISCO team with environment management (data access requests, new data on boarding)
- Conduct routine maintenance on Redshift cluster
- Monitor infrastructure with Cloud Watch alarms
- Implement code-based infrastructure improvements
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for infra issues
- Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR)
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.)
- Knowledge of distributed systems related to data storage and computing
- Experience with reporting/analytics platforms
Minimum Qualifications:
candidates should have at least 1+ year of experience in data engineering, with strong proficiency in SQL. They must have hands-on experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Familiarity with one or more query languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, or Scala is required
