Job Description:

The Software Engineer II – Backend role at Uber (Bangalore) involves designing and building scalable backend systems for Uber's Membership platform, which powers Uber One across Rides and Eats. The engineer will collaborate with multiple teams, contribute to engineering best practices, and write high-quality, tested code. The ideal candidate has experience with languages like Golang or Java, data analysis, and CI/CD pipelines, and demonstrates strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and improve systems used by millions.
  • Write high-quality, tested code.
  • Align technical solutions to business goals.
  • Contribute to engineering standards and team practices.
  • Identify process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Golang or Java.
  • Data analytics experience (Hive or similar).
  • Familiar with CI/CD and testing.
  • Strong ownership, leadership, and mentoring ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in CS/related field or 2+ years full-time software engineering experience. Experience with one or more: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Go.
